Big Beautiful Barn

This barn was actually done last fall but with the holidays, illness, etc. the person who updates my blog wasn't able to get it on till now.

This was a BIG project as you can see from this first photo...

WOW! Now that's a long ways up there! This barn was new construction and needed a paint job to protect it from the elements. Besides a nice paint job just makes it look better:)

A little tease first! What do you think?

Now for the big reveal...

Wish we had better light but the paint really did make a difference!

If you have a house, garage or barn that needs paint...inside or out...please call and I will give you a quote that will surprise and delight you!

Thanks for stopping by!

5000 Square Foot Home with a View

The most recent painting job I did was a 5000 square foot house on the side of a hill overlooking the Bay that needed decks and trim painted. I have a couple of painting assistants that work with me on these big jobs so we can get them done quickly and efficiently!

This first picture is of the hot tub and deck sorely in need of a paint job...

The after picture looks much more inviting, right?

Technically, this picture should have come first to show the home and size. We painted all the trim.

And the entry...

And more trim...

And MORE trim plus the decks!

When we were finished I received the following from the owner...
Ken Brooks (Painter with Integrity) did a wonderful job painting the trim, doors and eaves exterior of my house. It is a challenging house with complex roofs and tall walls. Ken and his crew paid great attention to details, to overall quality, and to safe practices. Administratively, they gave a carefully-considered complete bid, were on the job when they said they would be,  were organized, and left a clean job site.  They went out of their way to do good prep work and help correct or point out pre-existing problems instead of covering them over. Also, Ken and his crew were enjoyable to work around.  I recommend him wholeheartedly.

Thank you Joanne for your wonderful review! And thank YOU for stopping by to check out my latest conquest! Do you have a home that needs a little painting update? Then call or email me and I will give you a quote that I am sure you will be happy with!

House in the Middle of Nowhere--Part 4

I am so sorry it has taken me so long to get back with the final installment of The House in the Middle of Nowhere! Life just seems to get in the way sometimes! Again, I am Kathy, long-time friend of Ken! He spent two weeks at my house painting the interior and I am so happy with it! We have spent some time (and money) finding fun items to decorate my newly painted house. It really does feel like a new place!

Now, Ken's favorite room when finished was the kitchen because the paint made such a huge difference and the kitchen hadn't been re-painted for 20 years! I know, that's a long time but neither hubby nor I wanted to paint ALL those cupboards again! After Ken finished, they look AMAZING!!! You can see the kitchen post here. My favorite finished room is the bathroom which also hadn't been re-painted in 20 years! I had thought for years about the color I wanted the bathroom painted and always came back to taupe. Taupe has a wide range, all the way from very gray to almost brown. My shade is near the brown end and goes perfect with the coral colored accents we chose!

So, here is the bathroom before...

It's hard getting decent pictures of the bathroom because there is only one very small window in the shower and the lights...well, let's just say they are not conducive to good photography.

Now for the after...

Ha! I did manage to get myself in this one! Does that qualify as a selfie?!!! Check out the cute coral knobs I found for the cupboards.

Oh, the contortions I went through to get this one in my very small bathroom! We are still in the process of replacing light switches and outlets as the old ones were yellowed and nice white ones were needed.

Ken did an amazing job of painting what I think is a difficult house. We have a lot of cupboards and trim and all of his lines are straight and clean! He does a great job of cleaning up after himself and his price is very reasonable! You will also get a great deal on paint by hiring Ken to do your painting job--interior or exterior! Be sure to call Ken today for a quote on the painting job you have been putting off! He will make it happen for you:)

Next week Ken and I will be back with some pictures of a very difficult exterior paint job! You will definitely want to come back to see this one!

House in the Middle of Nowhere--Part 3

Hello everyone, it's Kathy again! I hope you have kept up with my house painting project. If not, you can check out Part 1 and Part 2. A few coats of paint and the work of an expert painter made my house look new! It's like I got a new house but didn't have to move:)

Today we are going to take a look at the living room. Now, Ken and my husband thought I had lost my mind on the color choice but it really works and both of them had to admit that it looked really good when it was finished!

So, the before...

And after...

I am sorry for the poor photo quality! I will upload replacement pictures when I get some pictures with a better camera.

Before...And, yes, the dog sits on the furniture just like a person:)

And after...

Can you see the trim nightmare? Ken was a real trooper and painted all the trim without any complaint! I am beyond happy with how clean and fresh everything looks!

One more before ...

A very long hall with FIVE doors! Ugh! But now it looks amazing!

Not the exact same shot but you get the idea!

Do you have a house that needs a facelift? Call Ken so he can give you an estimate on how much it will cost to make your house clean and fresh! I know you will be very happy with the job Ken does and how easy he is to work with!

Check back for the last room we updated...the bathroom! Ken's favorite redo was the kitchen because it really did make a huge difference but mine is the bathroom. I have been dreaming of this color in the bathroom for several years and to see it come to fruition...well, I get a smile on my face every time I peek in:)

House in the Middle of Nowhere Part 2

Hello! Hello! It's Kathy again with Part 2 of my home improvement project. I was so fortunate to get Ken at Painter with Integrity to come to the Middle of Nowhere for two weeks to paint my house. It did help that I have known Ken for many years! I also promised to feed him:)

Today I will show the dining room! There isn't a lot of change that is visible in the pictures as the color is only slightly darker. I do believe this room was painted about 15 years ago but didn't seem to get the wear and tear that the other rooms did. This room was a little easier to paint than the others because it is an add-on that was finished in about 1998 and has sheetrock instead of the nasty mobile home paneling!

So, this is the before picture of the diningroom...

As you can see, Ken is already hard at work!

See the slight difference in color? We made a huge mistake by not having Ken purchase the paint for us. Did you know you get a great paint discount by purchasing through Ken?

And a perfect frame into my beautiful kitchen!

I have two more rooms to show you but that will wait for another day! If you are inspired by these pictures to have Ken paint your house...interior or exterior, just give him a call! He does an amazing job for a price you can afford!

House in the Middle of Nowhere

Welcome to our home in north central Oregon! Did you wonder where Ken was for the first two weeks of July? Well, he was painting the inside of my house in 100 degree heat! I am Kathy Skinner and I have known Ken for 40+ years. I also help him with his blog:) I was super excited when I struck a deal with Ken to come for two weeks to give my house a much needed facelift! Now, by house I really mean 1976 single-wide mobile home that we have given a lot of tender loving care to over the 20 years we have owned it! We painted the whole inside of the mobile home before we moved in 20 years ago but the kitchen and bathroom had not been repainted since we moved in and were in pretty sad condition. Thanks to Ken, I feel like I have a new house!  I hope you will enjoy taking a tour with me over the next few days to see just what Ken did to our home.

I do think Ken was most pleased with how the kitchen turned out so I am going to show it first. Personally, I LOVE my bathroom so will show it last:)

Ken had to paint a lot of trim, a lot of cupboards and that horrible brown fake cork wall.

What do you think of the after picture?!!! WOW! I totally LOVE it!!! The cupboards are so shiny with high gloss enamel and that nasty brown wall is a beautiful light blue:)

Another before...

It looks like we could have been a little better with the before pictures but I think you get the idea.

Oh my goodness! Is this even the same room?!!! Amazing!!!

See that pretty butterscotch wall through the doorway? Well, that will be the next room on our tour.

If you would like Ken to turn your house from drab to fabulous, just give him a call!
